Here are the top performers from Week 3 of the high school football season along volleyball and softball from the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 5. Each week we do top performers for all sports, so please send nominees on Saturday or Sunday to Brandon Shields. Deadline is every Sunday night at 8 p.m.

 

Player of the Week: Austin Banks, QB, MRA: Went 17-of-25 passing for 328 yards and five touchdowns in the Patriots 42-21 win over Hartfield Academy.

FOOTBALL

Garrett Adcock, RB, Leake Academy: Ran the ball 20 carries with 279 yards and four touchdowns in the 48-6 win over Winston Academy.

Holt Adams, WR/DB, MRA: Hauled in six catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns in the Patriots 42-21 win over Hartfield Academy.

Christian Alexander, RB, Rosa Fort: Had 16 carries for 142 yards with two touchdowns and one catch for 33 yards in the Lions 42-36 loss to Pure Academy (Tenn.).

Kross Avent, QB, East Webster: Went 13-of-28 passing for 235 yards with three touchdowns and added 30 yards rushing and a touchdown in the Wolverines 47-13 win over Nanih Waiya.

Grayson Blakney, QB, Tishomingo County: Went 9-of-10 passing for 254 yards with two touchdowns, had 12 rushes for 87 yards with three touchdowns, and converted three two-point conversions in the Braves 56-7 win over Biggersville.

Tripp Boatman, QB, Eupora: Had 17 rushes for 176 yards with two touchdowns and went 3-for-5 passing for 28 yards in the Eagles 34-14 win over French Camp.

Caiden Boyd, RB/LB, Florence: Rushed 26 times for 136 yards with a touchdown and two tackles, a sack, and an interception in the Eagles 46-16 loss to Kosciusko.

Kayden Bradford, RB, Poplarville: Carried the ball nine times for 152 yards and two touchdowns in the Hornets 42-0 win over Stone.

Reed Bridges, WR/DB, PCS: Hauled in nine catches for 133 yards with a touchdown and had seven tackles and a fumble recovery on defense in the Bobcats 21-17 win over Mize.

Andre Brown, QB, McAdams: Went 2-of-3 passing for 25 yards with a touchdown and ran the ball nine times for 203 yards with three touchdowns in the Bulldogs 44-14 win over West Lowndes.

Kelly Brown, QB/DB, Hazlehurst: Had seven rushes for 52 yards with a touchdown, 1-of-2 passing for 15 yards, nine tackles on defense, a fumble recovery, and a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Indians 31-22 win over East Marion.

Damarion Burnett, LB, Ruleville: Totaled 10 tackles with two tackles for loss in the Tigers 34-0 win over Gentry.

Brady Busby, QB, Tri-County Academy: Went 6-of-8 passing for 151 yards and two touchdowns in the Rebels 50-7 win over Madison St. Joe.

Anthony Buxton, RB, Vancleave: Ran the ball 14 times for 122 yards with a touchdown and had a 52-yard touchdown reception in the Bulldogs 49-46 win over Richland.

Jayden Carson, WR, Murrah: Had two catches for 118 yards and a touchdown in the Mustangs 48-23 win over Callaway.

Landon Cato, LB, Moss Point: Recorded 21 tackles with four tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in the Tigers 20-0 loss to Lanier.

Chase Craft, QB, Heidelberg: Went 16-of-19 for 389 yards with six touchdowns, three carries for 19 yards with a touchdown, and had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the Oilers 66-14 win over Quitman.

KiMontae Crutison, QB, Port Gibson: Went 10-of-20 passing for 230 yards with three touchdowns and rushed five times for 140 yards and two touchdowns in the Blue Wave’s 38-8 win over Jim Hill.

Jack Dalton, WR, MRA: Had eight receptions for 201 yards and three touchdowns in the Patriots 42-21 win over Hartfield Academy.

Nosiah Davis, DE, Forest: Totaled 11 tackles with a tackle for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble in the Bearcats 37-19 loss to West Harrison.

Jamarioun Dear, RB, Quitman: Rushed 12 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers 66-14 loss to Heidelberg.

Logan Heisel, QB, Saltillo: Went 14-of-23 passing for 289 yards with four touchdowns in the Tigers 71-28 loss to Lafayette.

Javarris Hickman, RB, Olive Branch: Carried the ball 22 times for 275 yards with two touchdowns in the Conquistadors 49-30 win over Lewisburg.

Sanjiya Hickman WR, Nanih Waiya: Had five receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Warriors 41-13 loss to East Webster.

Griff Hill, WR, Magnolia Heights: Hauled in five catches for 172 yards with three touchdowns in the Chiefs 40-0 win over Heritage Academy.

Tristen Hobson, RB/LB, Morton: Had four carries for 26 yards, a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, 12 tackles, two interceptions, and a forced fumble on defense in the Panthers 49-34 win over West Lauderdale.

Wyatt Holstein, WR, Tishomingo County: Caught five passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns in the Braves 56-7 win over Biggersville.

Cayden Jones, TE/DE, Bruce: Hauled in three receptions for 74 yards with two touchdowns and five tackles on defense in the Trojans 42-0 win over Vardaman.

Jayden Jones, QB, Clinton: Went 16-of-29 passing for 210 yards with two touchdowns and added 37 yards rushing on 13 carries and a touchdown in the Arrows 44-34 loss to Northwest Rankin.

Damonta Keyes, RB/LB, Raleigh: Had four carries for 12 yards, converted a two-point conversion, 15 tackles and a fumble recovery in the Lions 28-21 win over Newton County.

Carson Caraway, Jackson Academy: In two matches totaled 32 kills, 19 digs, eight aces, and a block in the Lady Raiders 3-0 win over Pillow Academy and 3-0 win over DeSoto Christian.
