Here are the top performers from Week 4 of the high school football season along volleyball and softball from the week of Sept. 7-12. Each week we do top performers for all sports, so please send nominees on Saturday or Sunday to Brandon Shields. Deadline is every Sunday night at 8 p.m.

 

Player of the Week: Jykiem Goodwin, QB, Noxubee County: Went 12-of-18 passing for 232 yards with three touchdowns and rushed 11 times for 140 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers 41-28 win over West Point.

FOOTBALL

Latrent Agnew, WR, Starkville: Hauled in six catches for 111 yards and a touchdown in the Yellowjackets 42-24 win over Meridian.

Crews Albritton, DE, Tri-County Academy: Had six tackles and two sacks in the Rebels 42-12 loss to Jackson Prep.

Jaden Allen, QB, Brookhaven: Went 6-of-15 passing for 80 yards with two touchdowns and rushed 10 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers 45-44 win over Madison Central.

Sanjaya Austin, RB/DB, Nanih Waiya: Ran the ball six times for 89 yards with three touchdowns and had seven tackles and a pass break-up on defense in the Warriors 49-20 win over Hamilton.

Kross Avent, QB, East Webster: Went 20-of-23 passing for 266 yards with four touchdowns and added 52 yards rushing and a touchdown in the Wolverines 35-0 win over Biggersville.

Ethan Bailey, RB, Washington School: Rushed 26 times for 208 yards and two touchdowns in the Generals 34-18 win over Greenville St. Joseph.

Jay Bennett, WR, Jackson Prep: Had four catches for 131 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots 42-12 win over Tri-County Academy.

Brantley Berkery, RB/DB, Starkville Academy: Carried the ball 10 times for 117 yards with three touchdowns, two catches for 21 yards, and a interception on defense in the Volunteers 41-6 win over Winston Academy.

Bentley Blansett, QB, East Marion: Went 16-of-32 passing for 185 yards with two touchdowns and rushed seven times for 91 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles 48-16 win over Tylertown.

Qualin Boyd, RB, West Marion: Ran the ball 12 times for 117 yards and two touchdowns in the Trojans 27-14 win over Lumberton.

Keller Bradley, RB/LB, St. Aloysius: Had six receptions for 143 yards with two touchdowns and on defense had 12 tackles, a forced fumble, and a 27-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the Flashes 24-22 loss to Riverfield Academy (La.). 

Langston Branson, QB, Germantown: Went 31-of-38 passing for 328 yards with three touchdowns and 13 carries for 129 yards and a touchdown in the Mavericks 42-35 loss to Warren Central.

Parks Brock, QB, Forrest Co. AHS: Went 15-of-28 passing for 220 yards with four touchdowns and six carries for 60 yards in the Aggies 34-28 loss to Vancleave.

Wyche Brown, LB, PCS: Totaled 12 tackles with a tackle for loss and a pass break-up in the Bobcats 40-38 loss to Pass Christian.

Derrious Burkhalter, LB, Noxubee County: Recorded 16 total tackles with two tackles for loss in the Tigers 41-28 win over West Point.

Bryson Caffie, QB, Magee: Went 12-of-18 passing for 174 yards and rushed 13 times for 96 yards with a touchdown in the Trojans 21-20 overtime win over Mize.

Mareese Chamberlin, RB, Kemper County: Carried the ball 15 times for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the Wildcats 34-7 win over Heritage Academy.

Elijah Collins, QB, Northeast Jones: Went 13-of-17 passing for 195 yards with two touchdowns and four rushes for 33 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers 28-23 win over Newton County.

Cortell Crandle, LB, Gulfport: Totaled 10 tackles with three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery in the Admirals 51-0 win over Laurel.

Traysten Crump, ATH, Amory: Had 11 rushes for 63 yards with a touchdown, a 32-yard touchdown reception, a 16-yard touchdown pass, four tackles, two forced fumbles, and a interception in the Panthers 36-0 win over Saltillo.

Ashton Curtis, DB, Olive Branch: Totaled eight tackles with two tackles for loss, a interception, and blocked a kick in the Conquistadors 17-12 win over Horn Lake.

Trent Daniels, QB, Sumrall: Went 15-of-27 passing for 283 yards with a touchdown and 41 yards rushing on five carries in the Bobcats 22-21 win over Purvis.

Jeremiah Davis, RB, Choctaw County: Rushed 12 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers 29-14 win over Rosa Fort.

Jamarion Dear, RB/LB, Quitman: Carried the ball 15 times for 138 yards, 10 tackles with three tackles for loss on defense, a sack, and a 47-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Panthers 9-6 win over Newton.

Brandon Duplessis, RB, Terry: Ran the ball 24 times for 284 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs 44-14 win over North Pike.

Luke Essary, QB, Jackson Prep: Went 13-of-15 passing for 343 yards with five touchdowns in the Patriots 42-12 win over Tri-County Academy.

Colter Garner, QB, Sacred Heart: Went 19-of-21 passing for 248 yards with four touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown in the Crusaders 37-19 win over Crystal Springs.

Devon Garrett, WR, Gautier: Hauled in seven receptions for 126 yards with two touchdowns in the Gators 33-19 win over West Harrison.

Brayden Gates, WR/DB, Amory: Had four rushes for 68 yards with a touchdown, four catches for 58 yards with a touchdown, and three tackles on defense in the Panthers 36-0 win over Saltillo. 

Jaden Gee, QB, Canton: Went 14-of-17 passing for 230 yards with two touchdowns and rushed six times for 106 yards and a touchdown in the Tigers 21-6 win over Murrah.

Ben Goodwin, K, PCS: Went 5-for-5 on PAT’s, booted a 35-yard field goal, and kicked four touchbacks on kickoffs in the Bobcats 40-38 loss to Pass Christian.

Ashton Gorden, RB, Ridgeland: Rushed 12 times for 158 yards with a touchdown and had a 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the Titans 34-24 win over Vicksburg.

Jon Carter Goodwin, QB, East Union: Went 12-of-16 passing for 257 yards with four touchdowns in the Urchins 48-14 win over Byers.

Jonas Green, S, Warren Central: Had eight tackles, three forced fumbles, and a 103-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the Vikings 42-35 win over Germantown.

Jaylen Hall, QB, West Point: Rushed 16 times for 167 yards with a touchdown and went 5-of-10 passing for 60 yards and a touchdown in the Green Wave’s 41-28 loss to Noxubee County.

Kellen Hall, QB, Oak Grove: Went 17-of-32 passing for 319 yards and three touchdowns in the Warriors 36-20 win over Hattiesburg.

Bobby Hamilton, Jr., DE/TE, Bay Springs: Had six tackles with three tackles for loss and a receiving touchdown in the Bulldogs 24-6 win over Forest Hill.

Aden Harden, WR, North Pontotoc: Hauled in 11 catches for 170 yards with three touchdowns in the Vikings 42-0 win over Alcorn Central.

Patrick Harper, DB, Northwest Rankin: Had five tackles and two interceptions in the Cougars 31-6 win over Wayne County.

Ian Harris, QB, Ruleville: Went 5-of-6 passing for 112 yards with two touchdowns and five carries for 45 yards in the Tigers 36-0 win over West Tallahatchie.

Jaden Henderson, WR, Terry: Caught four passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs 44-14 win over North Pike.

Javarris Hickman, RB, Olive Branch: Carried the ball 26 times for 114 yards and a touchdown in the Conquistadors 17-12 win over Horn Lake.

Jordan Husband, WR, Forrest Co. AHS: Hauled in four catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns in the Aggies 34-28 loss to Vancleave.

Isaac Iles, K, Brookhaven: Went 6-for-6 on PAT’s and booted a 44-yard field goal in the Panthers 45-44 win over Madison Central.

A.K. Ingram, WR/DB, Ruleville: Had two catches for 65 yards with two touchdowns, six tackles on defense, a sack, and a 102-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Tigers 36-0 win over West Tallahatchie.

Jabaruus Jefferson, RB, East Marion: Carried the ball 14 times for 102 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles 48-16 win over Tylertown.

Cam Lee, WR/DB, East Webster: Hauled in eight catches for 118 yards with three touchdowns and had five tackles on defense in the Wolverines 35-0 win over Biggersville.

Carsen Leslie, ATH, Sumrall: Had five receptions for 113 yards and four rushes for 15 yards and a touchdown in the Bobcats 22-21 win over Purvis.

Anthony Lewis, TE, Biloxi: Caught five passes for 84 yards with two touchdowns in the Indians 34-31 overtime loss to Picayune.

Preston Lewis, DL, Starkville Academy: Totaled 10 tackles with a tackle for los and two sacks in the Volunteers 41-6 win over Winston Academy.

Wade Marsh, WR, Sumrall: Caught six passes for 134 yards and a touchdown in the Bobcats 22-21 win over Purvis.

Davarione McDonald, LB, Morton: Recorded 11 tackles with four tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and caught a two-point conversion in the Panthers 36-34 win over Scott Central in overtime.

Hunter McIlwain, LB, SE Lauderdale: Totaled 10 tackles with two and a half tackles for loss in the Tigers 21-14 win over NE Lauderdale.

Parker McKenzie, WR/DB, Madison St. Joseph: Caught six passes for 125 yards with two touchdowns and three tackles on defense in the Bruins 65-20 loss to Brookhaven Academy.

Keon McNeil, QB, Gautier: Went 15-of-25 passing for 223 yards with five touchdowns in the Gators 33-19 win over West Harrison.

Josh Parker, WR, Brandon: Had seven receptions for 167 yards with two touchdowns in the Bulldogs 30-18 win over Clinton.

Knox Smith, QB, Starkville Academy: Went 13-of-22 passing for 253 yards and two touchdowns in the Volunteers 41-6 win over Winston Academy.

Dawsen Sullivan, QB, St. Martin: Went 15-of-18 passing for 214 yards with two touchdowns and had seven carries for 153 yards and three touchdowns in the Yellowjackets 45-14 win over Stone.

Jackson Teasley, QB, Copiah Academy: Went 18-of-21 passing for 212 yards and three touchdowns in the Colonels 42-8 win over Raymond.

Fulton Tedder, LB, Vardaman: Recorded 15 tackles with seven tackles for loss and a sack in the Rams 26-8 loss to French Camp.

Davion Townsend, QB/DB, Leake: Went 7-of-9 passing for 140 yards with two touchdowns, nine rushes for 141 yards with two touchdowns, and a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Gators 59-26 win over Holmes County.

Mattox Treadaway, RB, East Union: Had 13 carries for 54 yards with a touchdown and five catches for 71 yards and a touchdown in the Urchins 48-14 win over Byers. Asher Wages, WR, East Union: Caught five passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns in the Urchins 48-14 win over Byers.

Paris Trivillion, QB, Pass Christian: Went 14-of-23 passing for 206 yards with three touchdowns and rushed 19 times for 197 yards with a touchdown in the Pirates 40-38 win over PCS.

Thomas Vanderloo, QB, Madison St. Joseph: Went 16-of-28 passing for 273 yards with two touchdowns in the Bruins 65-20 loss to Brookhaven Academy.

Myles Williams, RB, Leflore County: Rushed 14 times for 178 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers 50-20 win over South Delta.

Kristen Bailey, Brandon: In two matches totaled 17 kills and five blocks in the Lady Bulldogs 3-0 win over Meridian and 3-0 win over Oak Grove.

Samantha Bowie, Biloxi: In two matches 44 digs, 32 kills, eight aces, and three blocks in the Lady Indians 3-1 loss to Harrison Central and 3-2 loss to Pass Christian.

Carson Caraway, Jackson Academy: In five matches totaled 58 kills, 39 digs, nine aces, and eight blocks in the Raiders 2-0 win over NE Lauderdale, 2-1 win over Petal, 2-0 win over Jackson Prep, 2-0 win over PCS, and 2-0 win over Brandon.

Lilly Ford, MRA: In three matches totaled 38 assists, five digs, two aces, and two kills in the Lady Patriots 3-1 win over Ruston (La.), 2-0 win over Madison St. Joe, and 2-0 win over St. Andrew’s.
