Here are the top performers from Week 2 of the high school football season along volleyball and softball from the week of Aug. 24-29. Each week we do top performers for all sports, so please send nominees on Saturday or Sunday to Brandon Shields. Deadline is every Sunday night at 8 p.m.

 

Player of the Week: Caiden Wade, QB, Kosciusko: Went 19-of-29 passing for 347 yards with three touchdowns and rushed 10 times for 111 yards and three touchdowns in the Whippets 56-35 win over Neshoba Central.

Garrett Adcock, RB, Leake Academy: Had 23 carries for 187 yards and three touchdowns in the Rebels 40-24 win over Riverfield Academy (La.).

Christian Alexander, RB, Rosa Fort: Rushed 16 times for 283 yards with five touchdowns and converted a two-point conversion in the Lions 36-0 win over North Panola.

Dominic Alexander, RB, Tishomingo County: Ran the ball 14 times for 136 yards with three touchdowns and had a 55-yard touchdown reception in the Braves 27-10 win over Alcorn Central.

Kross Avent, QB, East Webster: Went 14-of-25 passing for 293 yards with three touchdowns in the Wolverines 20-14 win over Choctaw County.

Knolyn Bailey, RB, Lanier: Carried the ball 26 times for 157 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs 24-20 win over Harrison Central.

Austin Banks, QB, MRA: Went 22-of-33 passing for 258 yards with four touchdowns in the Patriots 30-27 win over Jefferson Davis County.

Jashaun Bass, LB, Biloxi: Recorded five tackles, two pass break-ups, and a 16-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Indians 35-19 win over Holmes County.

Aaric Beasley, RB, Jackson Academy: Rushed 30 times for 229 yards and two touchdowns in the Raiders 16-0 win over McGill-Toolen (Ala.).

Qua Bell, QB, Booneville: Went 18-of-25 passing for 351 yards with three touchdowns in the Blue Devils 33-21 win over North Pontotoc.

Caiden Belton, QB, Petal: Went 13-of-32 passing for 154 yards with two touchdowns in the Panthers 35-34 win over Hattiesburg.

ZyChristian Benson, RB, Mize: Carried the ball five times for 85 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs 56-6 win over Taylorsville.

Bryson Bivins, QB, Laurel: Went 21-of-27 passing for 367 yards with four touchdowns in the Golden Tornadoes 56-42 win over West Jones.

Bentley Blansett, QB, East Marion: Went 11-of-15 passing for 265 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles 40-0 win over West Marion.

Kenneth Boggs, DB, Stone: Had six tackles and two interceptions in the Tomcats 50-44 win over Hancock.

Langston Branson, QB, Germantown: Went 6-of-11 passing for 100 yards with two touchdowns and ran the ball eight times for 118 yards and three touchdowns in the Mavericks 60-27 win over Northwest Rankin.

Debraydon Broomfield, QB, Scott Central: Had 12 carries for 205 yards with three touchdowns and went 3-for-3 passing for 20. yards in the Rebels 30-7 win over NE Lauderdale.

DaShawn Brooks, DE, Harrison Central: Recorded 10 tackles and three tackles for loss in the Red Rebels 24-20 loss to Lanier.

Acely Brown, RB, Petal: Rushed 12 times for 60 yards with two touchdowns and two catches for 27 yards in the Panthers 35-34 win over Hattiesburg.

Chrishun Brown, DL, Warren Central: Had seven tackles and two sacks in the Vikings 35-24 win over Clinton.

Koltan Brown, QB/DB, Hatley: Carried the ball 17 times for 124 yards with three touchdowns, went 3-for-3 passing for 33 yards, one catch for nine yards, 13 tackles, and two tackles for loss in the Tigers 24-18 win over Nettleton.

Mareese Chamberlin, RB, Kemper County: Rushed 14 times for 153 yards and a touchdown in the Wildcats 48-34 win over Quitman.

Reign Chambers, WR/DB, Wayne Academy: Had two interceptions, returning one 100 yards for a touchdown, two tackles, and a 38-yard touchdown catch in the Jaguars 38-0 win over Bowling Green School (La.).

Majure Chandler, QB, Leake Academy: Went 7-of-13 passing for 188 yards with two touchdowns and rushed four times for 66 yards and a touchdown in the Rebels 40-24 win over Riverfield Academy (La.).

Martavious Collier, WR, Laurel: Caught four passes for 118 yards with a touchdown, had a 2-yard touchdown run, and a 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the Golden Tornadoes 56-42 win over West Jones.

Kaden Cork, WR, Choctaw County: Hauled in 13 catches for 105 yards with a touchdown and had three rushes for 28 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers 20-14 loss to East Webster.

Nate Cornelison, WR/DB, Tupelo Christian: Had two interceptions and a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the Eagles 42-0 win over East Union.

Jack Dalton, WR, MRA: Caught 10 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns in the Patriots 30-27 win over Jefferson Davis County.

Trent Daniels, QB, Sumrall: Went 6-of-9 passing for 157 yards with two touchdowns in the Bobcats 39-0 win over Collins.

Patrick Davis, QB, Indianola Academy: Went 4-of-7 passing for 104 yards with a touchdown and rushed 11 times for 92 yards with three touchdowns in the Colonels 26-0 win over Carroll Academy.

Amijai Frederick, RB, Gulfport: Ran the ball 11 times for 65 yards with three touchdowns in the Admirals 35-0 win over Picayune.

Anthony Givens, LB, Natchez: Recorded 15 tackles and a tackle for loss in the Bulldogs 20-14 win over Vicksburg.

Marquiez Goodman, QB, Independence: Ran the ball 12 times for 192 yards with two touchdowns, went 2-of-4 passing for 45 yards with a touchdown, and 87 return yards in the Wildcats 24-20 win over Water Valley.
